Rachel Wins Endurance Veto

Yesterday’s surprise opening of Pandora’s Box paired up the remaining houseguests before nominations and gave the HoH “duo” of Porsche and Kalia $5,000 each. Jordan and Rachel, the two remaining Veterans, were nominated for eviction as a duo by Porsche. Because of the Pandora Duo twist, a nominee winning the veto would save both nominees, removing them from the block together.

Rachel hung on for a victory late this afternoon in an endurance-style Veto competition. She and Jordan will be safe for another week. The only remaining duo, Adam and Shelly, will replace them on the block during Monday’s Veto Ceremony. With the numbers in the house dwindling, only two votes are needed this week to send someone to Jury, so power shifts to the Veterans.

Shelly is the most likely to leave, having burned her bridges with Jordan by evicting Jeff and siding with Daniele last week. She hasn’t been on Rachel’s good side in a long while. Shelly has never tried to mend fences with Rachel, being confrontational and sometimes openly hostile. She even went so far as to steal Rachel’s stuffed puppy from her bed.

Directly after the feeds returned, Adam was already jokingly pleading to Rachel and Jordan for their vote. Shelly, knowing her likely fate, turned in frustration to bitter insults and accusations towards Rachel, her favorite target.

Chaos In The House

This is when it all falls apart. It’s because of the slop, the cold showers, the lies, the house stench, the days that turn into nights, and the gradual slip of reality. All of it begins to numb at your brain, erasing who you are and what you know.

But the good news is you might win $500K. And that’s what people keep telling themselves when they have to get up every morning in the Big Brother house. Though I think at this point money goes second to pride. There’s some real shoving going on in there, and I think just about everyone is ready to prove themselves. Rachel hates losing, but sometimes she fights so hard it goes beyond the game. She could never concede to anyone, for anything, and that makes her a great player but a huge threat.

Brendon on the Block

Adam took himself off the block today and Daniele again targeted Brendon for eviction. Up against Shelly, it seems that the trend of a returning houseguest having a short second life in the Big Brother house is continuing.  Brendan and Rachels plan for Dani to backdoor Jeff obviously fell on deaf ears, and Daniele wants nothing more than to get Brenda out – for good.

At this point Jeff and Jordan seem to be unsure who they will vote out on Thursday, thinking that Brendon may be better to keep over Shelly, trusting the Veteran alliance to stay true. The smartest thing that Daniele could do this week is tell Jeff and Jordan about the Brenchels plan to backdoor him so it assures their vote will be for Brendan to leave.

With Brendan back on the block, Rachel seems to be reverting back to her whiny, crying, clingy self and hasn’t let him go. Only time will tell what kind of campaigning will be done to keep him but no doubt it will involve intimidation, big words, and tears.  The vote, if not all in Shelly’s favor, will more than likely come down to Adam.

Adam Wins Veto

In a Corn-Hole Trade-Off Veto Competition there were clear winners and clear losers.  Adam pulled out his first Veto win of the season, saving himself in the game.  Shelly turned out to be both, having to endure 24 hours of solitary confinement in the Have Not Room but also looking forward to a phone call from home. Jeff won $5,000, Kalia a trip to the Caribbean and Daniele a Veto Ticket, able to choose to play in a Veto when not chosen to.

Jordan, however, has been given the latest Big Brother leotard– bright green with “I`m With Stupid” and an arrow pointing up on the front, “Kick Me” in the back, and a `propeller dunce-cap. She’s accessorized perfectly, with a bright pink tutu and matching pink fuzzy slippers. According to Jordan she “couldn`t have asked for anything better” and she does totally rock it.

Adam coming off the block will force Daniele to name a replacement nominee. With Brendon back in the game he is the primary target, however before nominations he and Rachel proposed a deal to Dani. We’ll find out whether they really have a deal on Monday. As of Saturday afternoon, it seems almost certain that Daniele has been blowing smoke up Brenda’s butt and will put him on the block and send him to the Jury House next Thursday.

Lawon Wins Big Brother Darwin Award

The last twelve hours have had some of the strangest twists & turns ever to occur on any of the thirteen Big Brother seasons. Shelly got the ball rolling with a masterful mental control move on Kalia. It worked far more powerfully than Shelly might have hoped, because at the end of the night Kalia had screwed herself and Dani into the ground, to the point of oblivion.

Worse, Lawon volunteered to make a suicide move without blinking, in fact he’s happy about it. Darwin’s theory depends on people as foolish as Lawon removing themselves from the gene pool, and he epitomizes the process. The pertinent Tweets are below, mostly in sequence, as the deal went down. All by @bbchatter unless otherwise noted.

Jeff Wins Veto

Kalia winning HOH was yet another blow to the veteran alliance, and she proved her allegiance to Daniele when she nominated Rachel and Jeff.  Her reasoning for nominating Jeff was that he’s a strong competitor and would have the best chance of beating Rachel in the Veto. Which he did, playing against Kalia, Rachel, Jordan, Shelly and Adam.

Jeff will take himself off the block and Kalia is going to choose a replacement nominee. The obvious choice is Jordan, however Kalia has vowed in the past that she would never nominate her. Before the nominations, when Jeff and Jordan spoke to Kalia she tried to explain her reasoning for putting Jeff up, but it turned in to a confrontation with Jordan. After Jordan stormed out, Jeff swore vengeance, telling Kalia she was his number one target, even above Daniele. He left with the parting shot “I’ll see you at the Veto.”

Kalia will have to decide whether to honor her promise to Jordan, by putting a newbie on the block as a pawn, or assuring Rachel’s eviction by nominating Jordan on Monday. Stay tuned, the next two days are going to be a very bumpy ride!

Brendon Wins Veto

When Daniele won Head of Household after setting the Couples alliance against her, it was unsurprising that she nominated Brendan and Rachel for eviction.  Both fierce competitors, they played the Veto competition along with Daniele, Jeff, Porsche and Adam. Unsurprisingly, Brendan added another win to his record and there is now a sliver of hope for the Couples Alliance.

Although it’s most likely that Brenchel will be split up this week, Daniele has few options for replacement nominations. Dani, who assured Jordan directly after the HOH competition that she and Jeff wouldn’t be split up for the summer, may not want to risk anything that might send Jordan home. Daniele said point blank that she will not put Jeff up since there would be too much risk. Shelly, who has raised suspicion with her game play, is a much better option and so is Porsche.

One thing is certain this week: tension is ratcheting up in the Big Brother house. The other Veterans are uncomfortable around Daniele, Kalia and Lawon. But a lot can change in the two days between now and Monday’s Veto Ceremony.

You Play To Win The Game

We are on Day 24 of Big Brother 13, and already we’ve seen game playing the likes of which you don’t normally get this early. There has been backstabbing, hinky voting; the game has kicked into high gear.  Normally it’s tough to judge the game being played this early on. However, as a feedwatcher and fan it is my Grodner-given right to play armchair houseguest and calls ’em likes I sees ’em! Here’s my take on the Big Brother 13 houseguests’  games so far:

Brendon Didn’t Use Veto

In today’s Veto Ceremony Brendan declined to use the power, leaving Adam and Dominic up for nomination. Both of them have struck deals with Brendan and Rachel, and think that the other is going home, but Daniele’s plotting has worked against Dom in the worst way. Daniele’s attempt to cause a rift in the Veterans alliance was a move that she used too early in the game, and her obvious campaigning for Dominic has failed completely. Daniele pushed much too hard for Jeff to be evicted, which clued the Vets in to her scheme.

Rachel and Brendan hope to keep Dom in the dark about his eviction. Jeff confronted Dom about rumors that he and Jordan would be backdoored. Dom scrambled for an answer, claiming that he had no idea where the theory had come from, and in the end left feeling completely vulnerable. Jeff all but told him that all his secrets had been exposed.

Meanwhile, Adam (who said he had his fly open the entire Veto Ceremony) went to the HOH room to be find out if he was safe. Brendan reassured him that they want him to achieve his goal of spending his 40th birthday in the Big Brother House.  Adam also had no qualms about throwing Dani under the bus, going so far as saying that she is his #1 target. There’s almost no hope for Dominic now, he’ll be headed home on Thursday.

Brendan Repeats Word, Wins Veto

Once again, Domenic and Adam are the unlucky duo nominated for eviction. With Rachel winning HoH again, the Veteran alliance continues to keep control of the house. Brendan kept it going in the veto competition, repeating last years word length competition win by recycling his winning word: ‘Understanding’.

Rachel and Brendan have all of the power this week, they can decide what to do together, but the chances of the Veto being used are very small.  Rachel nominated Dom and Adam, she doesn’t trust either of them, but it’s up in the air as to who will go home.

Dominic’s relationship with Danielle is a worry, along with his strength in physical competitions and the fact that he’s not easily read. Adam, on the other hand, is apparently an open book to his fellow houseguests. They’re all concerned about his knowledge of the Big Brother game and how well he will be able to do in mental competitions. One of them is almost certain to leave this week.
